The UK is a popular destination for international students, and there are a wide range of student homes available to suit all budgets and needs. From traditional university halls of residence to modern purpose-built student accommodation, there is something for everyone.

Types of student homes

  • University halls of residence: These are typically the most affordable option, and they offer a traditional student experience. Halls are usually located on or near the university campus, and they provide shared accommodation with other students.
  • Purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA): These are modern student accommodation complexes that are designed specifically for students. PBSA typically offers a variety of amenities, such as en suite bathrooms, common rooms, and laundry facilities.
  • Private flats and houses: These are a good option for students who want more independence. Private flats and houses can be found in a variety of locations, and they offer more flexibility than halls or PBSA.

Purpose-built student halls

Purpose-built student halls are a popular choice for students who want a safe and secure environment with plenty of facilities. They typically offer shared kitchens, bathrooms, and common areas, as well as laundry facilities and on-site security. Some student halls also offer en suite rooms and meal plans.

Private houses and flats

Private houses and flats are a good option for students who want more independence and privacy. They can be rented from landlords or letting agents, and come in a variety of sizes and styles. Although I have only been renting with Harringtons for a short period of time, I have had nothing but a positive experience. From viewing to admin updates. The admin team especially are very polite and quick to respond and I have no doubt that the rest of my tenancy will run smoothly. I would recommend to anyone considering renting in brighton.

Professional communication with tenant although entirely impersonal. There was a bigger disconnect in their communication with the landlord in most cases, which seemed to be either slow or non-existent (discovered after contacting the landlord directly).Property was full of spider webs on day 1 despite apparently being professionally cleaned. Took a day off of work to clean it on move out day, leaving it cleaner than when it received but still had to pay part of the deposit for professional cleaning. It has been a while since I have rented, but I'll avoid letting agencies completely now if this is anything close to the average renting experience.
